Have you ever wondered what it would be like to read the writings of the Apostles in the original language in which they were written?  Have you ever wondered what the minister or evangelist was taking about when they started to preach about the nuances of the underlying Greek and how that affected the meaning, interpretation, or theological relevance of a certain verse?

Well, wonder no longer!  This class is an exciting opportunity to learn how to read the Sacred Texts in their original language and interpret and translate the Holy Scriptures for yourself.

  1. Be sure to get the second edition of both the grammar and the workbook.  Do not get the first edition, as they are very different.

  2. If you are ordering a used workbook make sure that is like new and does not already have writing in it.  You will want to do the exercises and tests yourself.  Unless you can be sure it is clean it is best to buy a new workbook even if you buy a used grammar.

  3. If you are ordering a used grammar make sure that it includes the CD in the back of the book.  There are many useful and valuable tools on the CD that you will want to use.

  4. These are the only two books you will need for beginning Greek.  I will give you a list of other books you will need for intermediate and advanced Greek when you get to that point.  It is not absolutely necessary but it will be very helpful if you have a computer.

My name is Burt Wagner.  I am an electrical engineer by trade and a biblical Greek scholar in my so-called spare time.  A few years back I got very interested in the Holy Scriptures and decided that I wanted to be able to read the New Testament in Greek and translate it for myself.  After taking a couple of semesters of beginning Greek and one semester of intermediate Greek I felt a calling to it so I went on to take several semesters of advanced Greek and Theology.  For me, leaning Koine Greek has been a real blessing in my walk with the Lord.  The Greek language is very beautiful, full of nuance and great expression.  I believe that reading the Scriptures in this way has brought me to a deeper and more personal understanding of the men who wrote the scriptures, the scriptures themselves, and our Lord.   Please feel free to contact me anytime at (303) 589-3095 or the email address below if you have any questions.
